MAARTEN WENTHOLT

The head teacher of the Academy: Maarten Wentholt. Maarten spent more then 3 decades in the denim and jeans business and is a true denim passionate. He strongly believes in sharing knowledge.

Product Developer and Denim Industry Specialist, Maarten Wentholt (b. 1960) has been working in the fashion industry for 34 years as a product director and senior product manager for various brands, such as G-Star, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Costume National, MFG Girbaud, Soorty Enterprises, PME, Butcher of Blue, NewAms, Kassl, SO by Alexander van Slobbe, Love Jeans and TRP.

In 2013, Maarten was invited to teach Dutch denim students at Jeanschool, Amsterdam and he has taken a special interest in educating next generation denim developers ever since.  At Denim City HQ Maarten develops and manages several professional denim related courses, which are tailored to fit the needs of industry specialists with various backgrounds, including designers, developers, product managers, sales and marketing people and other specialists. These courses have become extremely popular amongst leading fashion brands, retailers, media and academia.

EVERYTHING WE DO IS GEARED TO MAKING DENIM DRYER, CLEANER AND SMARTER. IT IS ONLY NATURAL,THEN THAT EDUCATION IS ONE OF OUR CORE ACTIVITIES. SINCE OUR OPENING – APRIL 2015, WE HAVE GIVEN NUMEROUS TRAINING SESSIONS ABOUT A VARIETY OF INDUSTRY RELATED TOPICS, RANGING FROM DENIM BASICS TO SUSTAINABILITY AND LAUNDRY. WITH A GROWING IMPORTANCE ON DIFFERENTIATION AND INNOVATION, ALL FUNCTIONAL DEPARTMENTS NEED A HIGHER LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE.
